Chat Counselling
Chat counselling is online counselling which uses typed text to communicate. You and your counsellor will take it in turn to type. It follows the same format as windows live messenger, yahoo messenger and other similar programs.
Since it is over the internet, counsellor and client do not need to be in the same town or even country. This means increased access to a counsellor. Counsellor and client work together to help the client resolve problems, as they would do with face to face counselling.
Chat counselling will suit you if:
- You are used to typing back and forth with another person.
- You are at ease with a keyboard.
- You are not concerned about speaking or seeing your counsellor.
- You find it easier expressing yourself using the written word rather than speaking.
- You do not want people to hear what you are saying.
- You do not have access to a microphone or webcam.
How It Works
For chat counselling we use a chat conferencing programme for all communication. It is easy to use, although we have provided you with a guide if you need it. Unlike other chat programs, only you and the counsellor can access the session. Other people will not be able to see that you are using the service. This prevents interruptions and increases privacy. Furthermore you do not need to install the programme onto your computer. Our chat conferencing programme is built using Adobe Flash and uses SSL security for all of its communications.
Making a Booking

You can log in 15 minutes prior to your session if you wish but your session will not begin until the time you have booked.
